England 6-2 Iran: To nobody's surprise the English beat Iran a Commanding 6-2 which, in the end, was a reasonable score given the fact they played, and a great way to start your campaign
England kicked off their World Cup campaign in style as they thrashed Iran 6-2 thanks to a brace from Bukayo Saka and efforts from Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Radford, and Jack Grealish.
Bellingham opened the scoring with his first England goal in the 35th minute while Sterling and Saka helped Gareth Southgate's side establish a comfortable 3-0 lead before half-time.
During the second half, Iran score a goal out of nowhere as Mehdi Taremi makes it 4-1, just moment’s later Marcus Rashford makes it 5-1 as newly entered Sub thrashes Iran’s defense, just when things could not get any worse for Iran Jack Grealish imposes himself at the 90(+1) and makes it 6-1 in the next 13 minutes of stoppage time Iran earns a penalty and Mehdi Tarami score’s another and makes it 6-2.
USA 1-1 Wales
It was the USA who dominated the early stages and could have taken the lead in nine minutes as Joe Rodon's inadvertent header towards his own goal was kept out by Wayne Hennessey before Josh Sargent nodded against the post shortly after.
The breakthrough came on 36 minutes as Christian Pulisic found space to slip a pass in behind for Weah, who smartly jabbed the ball past Hennessey and into the bottom corner, making it 1-0 USA. With eight minutes to go, Wales found the equalizer, however. Bale got himself in front of Walker Zimmerman in the box to be tripped and win a penalty, before stepping up himself to thunder the ball past Matt Turner, Making it 1-1 at the full time The USA and Wales share 1 point and are left trailing as England claim 3 against Iran and will be looking to earn more points in their next game.
Wales 0-2 Iran
Iran made the most of their one-man advantage, scoring two injury-time goals to beat Wales 2-0 to stay alive in Group B. Late into the second half, Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was sent-off for a foul outside the penalty box, giving Iran a man's advantage in the dying minutes. The first half remained a drab affair, with neither of the two teams managing to create big chances. Earlier, Gareth Bale made history for Wales as he started the game against Iran, making his 110th appearance for the country.
England 0-0 USA
England and USA shared points as they played out a 0-0 draw at the Al Bayt Stadium on Friday. Before halftime, the Americans came closest to breaking the deadlock in the 33rd minute through Christian Pulisic. Pulisic’s left-foot shot from the edge of the area cannoned off the bar as the United States enjoyed a purple patch at the end of the half. Skipper Harry Kane had England’s best chance in the 10th minute but his shot was blocked. The USA's chances for a round of 16 stay alive after this draw a win over Iran would do just that.
