Let’s learn about break days this semester.
Monday, October 2
First, we don’t go to school on October 2 because it is Mahatma Gandhi's birthday.
Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869.
October 23 - 27
Second, we don't go to school on October 23~27.
It is fall break.
We can rest for 9 days if we include the weekend.
November 10 and 14
Third, we don’t go to school on November 10 and 14.
It is Diwali. Diwali is a Hindu festival that means lights.
People usually decorate their houses by using bulbs.
How about participating in a Diwali event?
November 23 and 24.
Fourth, we don’t go to school on November 23 and 24.
This is US Thanksgiving.
It is the day that celebrates the blessings of the past year.
In 1789, President George Washington designated it as a public holiday first.
December 18~January 5
Fifth is December 18~January 5.
We have a winter break.
Also, We have a half day on December 15.
